Prof. Dworakowska has a broad clinical practice in endocrinology (thyroid, parathyroid, pituitary, adrenals, PCOS, low testosterone, endocrine problem in pregnancy and before IVF), endocrine oncology (tumours of endocrine glands), endocrine cardiology, diabetes (including pre-diabetes and insulin resistance), hypertension, obesity and general/internal medicine (tiredness, vitamin D deficiency, iron deficiency, hair loss, hirsutism, acne).
She provides a holistic assessment of complex medical problems and difficult to treat disorders including problems with libido, appetite and tiredness. She collaborates with other specialties to help the patients with their problems rather than concentrate on a disease.
She completed her training in endocrinology and diabetes in London at Barts and the London Hospital, as well as at Kings College Hospital and Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital. She undertook her specialty training in general/internal medicine at Medical University of Gdansk (Gdansk, Poland), Otto-von-Guericke University (Magdeburg, Germany) and Katharinen Hospital (Stuttgart, Germany).
Prof. Dworakowska worked as a Consultant Physician in Medicine and Endocrinology (locum) at Kings College Hospital (2012-2017) and as a Consultant in Endocrinology and Diabetes (locum) at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital (2013-2014).
Prof. Dworakowska has an extensive research portfolio in endocrinology, metabolism (weight disease, obesity), oncological endocrinology, cardio-vascular endocrinology and general medicine.
She is a Professor at Medical University of Gdansk, Poland and was in the past an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Cancer Studies at Kings College London. She received a title of Professor in Medicine from a Polish President Mr Duda and Polish Government in 2019. She has published a significant amount of original research papers, reviews and book chapters. She teaches and provides lectures internationally as well as runs international, translational and multidisciplinary research in endocrinology.
She is a memeber of Royal College Physicians, Society for Endocrinology (UK and Poland), The Endocrine Society, European Network of the Adrenal Tumours (ENSAT), Association of British Clinical Diabetologists, UK and Ireland Neuroendocrine Tumours Society, European Society of Endocrinology, ICO, MDU, Independent Doctors Federation and Polish Academy of Science.
